Located within the Burn Center at Westchester Medical Center,
the Regional Hyperbaric Center treats people suffering from
a wide variety of injuries and illnesses in both emergency
and non-emergency situations. From victims of carbon monoxide
poisoning to burn and severe crush injuries and amputations
to chronic or radiation wounds, the Center is available around
the clock to referring physicians and emergency admissions
alike. Unlike many other hyperbaric units, the staff members
at Westchester Medical Center are highly trained with years
of hyperbaric and related experience
As an integral part of the Westchester Medical Center, the
Hyperbaric unit achieves the Hospital's mission of providing
cutting edge, high quality care to the 3.6 million people
in the area. As the regions only Level 1 Trauma Center, some
of the most severely ill and injured newborns, children, and
adults receive the expert treatment that only a Level 1 Trauma
Center czn provide. Most of the state-of-the-art technologies
and specialized care programs are unique to the region, and
in some cases, the state.
